Higher Education Fair 2018 / 2018-01-19

Representative team of Karalius Mindaugas Vocational Training Center‘s participated in the „Higher Education Fair 2018“ which took a place in Kaunas, Lithuania. Many different institutions of higher education had a chance to represent themselves and answer prospective students questions during this whole day event.

According to the Minister of Education Jurgita Petrauskiene “today’s situation is that most of the graduates choose universities, but the largest supply in the labor market is for those jobs that need only a vocational qualification. A modern vocational training system should ensure the qualitative preparation of the employees needed for the economy of the country. The system has to work not for itself, but for the country, regional needs. It is necessary to change the attitude towards vocational training, to increase prestige and to invest in quality. This is the direction that is absolutely necessary and we are moving towards it “the minister said.

Karalius Mindaugas Vocational training Center’s representative team not only introduced participants of the fair to professions offered in this Center but also invited practically to try Florist profession by creating a "flowering" bracelet. It seems that this year participants of the fair were not only interested in the popular training programs such as: hygienic cosmetic cosmetics, hairdressers, masseurs, paramedics or florists, but also to a pet care workers, sewing, equine business workers, audio and video equipment operators.

Participants who were interested in VET programs at the fair learned more about the requirements for admission to vocational schools, got acquainted with the possibilities to participate in continuing vocational education and training programs. Also, they could get more information about the admission process and how to use mandatory LAMA BPO information system.
