Foot care provider

You can choose to study after 12 grades (duration of studies – 1.5 years).

The training programme is aimed at preparing the foot care service provider able to establish the need for foot care, to select the equipment and use the proper techniques of foot care, document the service, inform the clients on the foot care and work safely when providing services to clients.

To pursue these aims, in theoretical courses, the future foot care service providers are taught the basics of economics and business, anatomy and physiology, anatomy and physiology of foot, foot pathology, biomechanics, pedicure, foot care technology, orthopaedic measures for foot, information technologies, professional psychology, aesthetics, etc.

The practical training takes place in practical training workshops. Duration of practical training – 480 hours. The practical training is aimed at solidifying and improving the practical skills of providing services to a client, performing inspection, survey and palpation, selecting proper foot care techniques and providing skin and nail care procedures.

The vocational readiness of the student, who passed the entire training programme, is demonstrated by the results of competency assessment examination which evaluates the competencies and general skills laid out in the curriculum. The composition of the commission of competency assessment examinations, organisation and the procedure of the issue of documents are regulated by the Ministry of Education and Science. The graduate from this programme is provided with a qualification of foot care service provider.

 

 

Description of qualification

The qualification of foot care service provider is necessary to work as a provider of foot care services.

The person, who acquired the qualification of foot care service provider, shall:

  • be able to establish the need for foot care, select the foot care techniques, provide foot care services;

  • know how to document the provision of service;

  • be able to work safely with foot care products, tools and equipment..

Having acquired the qualification of foot care service provider, the persons can work in state and private institutions, hospitals, clinics, beauty and hairdressing salons, rehabilitation centres.
