Fine textile handicrafts producer

You can choose to study:  after completing 10 or 12 grades (duration of studies – 3 or 2 years).

Specialisations: production of interior textile handicrafts; costume decoration.

The training programme is aimed at preparing the fine textile makers who would have a theoretic background and practical skills in the area of production of fine textile and would be able to create and produce new generation products of high added-value; at conferring the qualification of the fine textile maker with specialisation of production of interior textile handicrafts or costume decoration.

In theoretical courses, the future fine textile makers are taught the basics of knitting and crocheting, weaving and tying as well as composition, textile materials, clothing design, felting, decorative fabric dyeing, embroidery, decorative sewing, analysis of styles and fashion tendencies, etc.

The practical training is performed in Centre’s training workshop and laboratories, duration of training - 1,060 hours. The practical training is aimed at improving the skills of knitting and crocheting, weaving and tying, clothing design, felting, fabric dyeing, embroidery, production of interior and costume accessories, interior textile products and costume decoration, etc. The apprenticeship is carried out in companies and takes 600 hours. The practical skills are solidified and improved during the industrial practice.

The vocational readiness of the student, who passed the entire training programme, is demonstrated by the results of competency assessment examination which evaluates the competencies and general skills laid out in the curriculum. The composition of the commission of competency assessment examinations, organisation and the procedure of the issue of documents are regulated by the Ministry of Education and Science. Those who complete the specialisation of production of interior textile handicrafts or costume decoration are conferred with the qualification of producer of fine textile handicrafts.
After successful graduation from the training programme of producer of fine textile handicrafts, it is possible to continue studies according to the higher education study programmes in the area of arts.

 

Description of qualification

 

The qualification of the fine textile makers is necessary to work as the fine textile makers.

The person, who acquired the qualification of fine textile makers (specialisation of the production of interior textile handicrafts), shall:

  • provide the services of decoration of interior of homes or institutions with textile;
  • work independently in individual companies or in a collective;
  • understand the basics of interior design;
  • compose and produce interior accessories for homes and institutions;
  • apply various textile product decoration techniques;
  • adapt interior accessories in the environment, decorate the costume, fit accessories;
  • operate the equipment used for the production of interior accessories;
  • select materials for interior decoration;
  • know how to work creatively, responsibly, attentively, individually, highly focused, integrated and have good eyesight.

The person, who acquired qualification of the fine textile makers (specialisation of costume decoration), shall:

  • be able to provide services to museums, occasional clothing salons, clothing studios;
  • work independently in individual companies or in a collective;
  • understand the costume design;
  • design costume decoration;
  • apply various textile product decoration techniques;
  • decorate costumes;
  • fit accessories;
  • operate the equipment used for clothing decoration;
  • select materials;
  • know how to work creatively, responsibly, attentively, individually, highly focused, integrated and have good eyesight.

Having acquired the qualification of fine textile makers, the persons can work in various companies producing clothing, interior textile articles, souvenirs and accessories, theatre workshops and be engaged in individual activity.
