You can choose to study after 10 or 12 grades (duration of studies – 3 or 2 years).

The training programme is aimed at preparing the hygiene cosmetics cosmeticians able to provide hygiene cosmetics services.

To pursue these aims, in theoretical courses, the future hygiene cosmetics cosmeticians are taught human anatomy and physiology as well as medicine, technology of general cosmetology and cosmetology procedures, technology of physiotherapy, cosmetics products and materials, hygiene and facial massage, preparation and application of cosmetic face masks, depilation, special drawing basics, use of cosmetician’s tools and equipment, etc.

The practical training takes place in Centre’s practical training bases, beauty salons, beauty parlours, beauty therapy and cosmetology centres, cosmetology treatment centres. Duration of practical training – 47.5 weeks. During this period, the skills of facial massage, make-up, depilation, manicure and pedicure, etc. are improved and solidified.

The vocational readiness of the student, who passed the entire training programme, is demonstrated by the results of competency assessment examination which evaluates the competencies and general skills laid out in the curriculum. The composition of the commission of competency assessment examinations, organisation and the procedure of the issue of documents are regulated by the Ministry of Education and Science. The graduate is conferred with the qualification of hygiene cosmetics cosmetician.

After completing the training programme of hygiene cosmetics cosmetician, it is possible to continue studies according to the higher education study programmes in the area of personal services.

 

 

Description of qualification

The qualification of hygiene cosmetics cosmetician is necessary to work as the cosmetician. The person, who acquired the qualification of hygiene cosmetics cosmetician, shall:

  • be able to evaluate the cosmetic needs of a client, evaluate client’s skin and give recommendations for its care at home, select cosmetic products and materials, compose the client’s service plan, ensure quality-based and safe performance of cosmetic procedures, perform mechanical and hygiene skin treatment, scrubbing, apply the mask, perform classical hygiene facial massage and massage of separate body parts, perform make-ups of various kinds, perform hygiene manicure and pedicure, depilation, know how to work safely with electrical appliances necessary for cosmetic procedures, analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of service;

  • know hygiene cosmetic means, methods and techniques of make-up, types of skin and care products, chemical substances and their composition, particularities of hygiene manicure and pedicure, occupational safety requirements, types of massage;

  • be able to work responsibly, attentively, individually and fast, organise his/her work, effectively communicate and cooperate with colleagues and clients.

Having acquired the qualification of hygiene cosmetics cosmetician, the persons can work as cosmeticians in beauty parlours and salons, cosmetology treatment centres (under the supervision of the doctor), be consultants in beauty shops and pursue individual activity.
